Omar Tyree’s “LESLIE, Part I” (Supernatural/Psychological Thriller)

tive Produced by Mark Ordesky (”Lord of the Rings”) and Scott Mednick (”300″, “Superman Returns”), and in association with Jeffrey Reddick (Final Destination), the feature length film adaptation of the classic novel ‘LESLIE’, written by New York Times Best Selling author Omar Tyree. Now read by over 8 million worldwide, according to Tyree’s publisher Simon & Schuster, the Omar Tyree brand has generated in excess of $30M in revenue worldwide.
Part I of the “LESLIE” trilogy follows the beautiful and serious college student Leslie Beaudet who struggles with a dark, powerful secret. In the eyes of her Haitian immigrant father, Leslie is a queen. To her Black Indian mother, she is a source of pride and strength. But when an alarming string of murders begin to point in Leslie’s direction, it becomes clear that no one knows the real Leslie, or her dark hunger for power. Dillard University in the lush, mystical city of New Orleans provides the backdrop for this supernatural thriller, that touches on the darker themes explored by films such as Stephen King’s “Carrie” and “Angel Heart”, but as well, blockbusters like “Stomp The Yard” and “Final Destination”. The film will be scored by RZA (Kill Bill, Blade Trinity), and released during the Halloween season.

“Flyy Girl, Inc.” is a series that pulls from the hugely successful ‘Flyy Girl’ trilogy of novels; ‘Flyy Girl’, ‘For the Love of Money’ and ‘Boss Lady’ by New York Times bestselling author and 2001 NAACP Image Award Recipient for Outstanding Literary Work in Fiction, Omar Tyree. According to his publisher Simon and Schuster, Tyree has been read by over 8 million people worldwide, and generated over $30M in revenue. “Flyy Girl, Inc.” will introduce us to the world of Tracy Ellis and her three fly protégés, Vanessa, Crystal and April. The series will focus on the lives, loves, triumphs and disappointments that these four strong women encounter while striving to make Flyy Girl, Inc. the hottest female lifestyle brand in the world. “Flyy Girl, Inc.” is a series within a series, focusing on the topic featured on the successful talk show “Tracy” and how that topic affects one or all of our Flyy Girls. The series will also highlight how these ambitious young women attempt to live a somewhat normal life while being surrounded by the glamor and all of the trappings that come with living in New York City.

Omar Tyree’s “FLYY GIRL” (Feature Length Drama)
The NY times best-selling novel FLYY GIRL exploded internationally in the mid 1990’s, as it was the first novel ever to explore the journey of a middle-class African American little girl as she blossoms into a young lady. Through the pain, confusion and longing of the one thing we all seek; love, FLYY GIRL could be any young girl’s story, anywhere in the world. It became the diary, the nightmare and a fantasy all at the same time, speaking for a whole generation of women. FLYY GIRL is the cautionary tale of Tracy Ellison, a young girl with knockout looks, slanted hazel eyes, tall hair, and attitude, coming of age during the modern hip-hop era.
